braid & waves

In this tutorial we show you how to create a half updo with a braid on one side and flowy curls on the other. A beautiful and romantic hairstyle that can definitely be worn at a party but could just as well be your new every day look.

Apply Organic Texturizing Salt Water Spray and blow-dry into the hair to give it more grip.

When the hair is dry, divide it into a parting and then into three sections; the first from the parting and diagonally back behind your ear. This section will become the braid. Then make a second section from the parting and diagonally back behind the ear on the other side, on an angle across the back of your head. This section will be curled.

Fix the triangular section that remains into a pony tail using a hair bungee.

Make a Dutch braid close to your head, backcomb the end of the braid and then fix to the base of the pony tail.

Then curl the large section of hair using a Slide Curler. Insert a section into the jaws of the iron, a little way from the bottom. Rotate the iron one or one and a half turns backwards and then remove. Work through all of the hair in this way, rotating all of the curls in the same direction.

Once the curls have cooled, brush them out using the Finishing Brush. Then fix the whole section in the pony tail to the nape of the neck using hairpins so that the hair falls nicely over your shoulder.

Then pull the braid outward to make it wider and softer. Fix the hairstyle with Fixing Hairspray for flexible hold and shine.
